The Demidov Three Month Character & Scene Study Immersion
In this second Immersion Course, we continue revisiting the Foundations, but also begin to take the work into more complex territory – to Demidov’s approach to the emergence of character and scene study.
We often make the mistake of “playing” character from the very beginning, and in doing so, kill its life and essence. This leads us to make decisions about who the character is and what they “should” do. Demidov’s approach frees us from these efforts.
According to Demidov, character is born in us; it is not created or built. It is a living being that continues to evolve and mature for as long as we are engaged in a role. Demidov says that the starting point of character lies in an imperceptible energy, in what he calls “weak currents”.
COURSE STRUCTURE
In this Immersion, we will work on how to listen and surrender to these weak currents – the first subtle signs of the character’s existence. We will explore how “the embryo of character” - as termed by Demidov - is conceived and nurtured, and introduce specific exercises for Character Accumulation and Facilitation, unique to the Demidov School and invaluable for the actor’s personal preparation.
In the second part of the Immersion, we bring everything we have been exploring to the character and circumstances given by an author, moving into the Scene Study stage. Here, you will choose a scene from a contemporary play and work with a partner, exploring how to prepare yourself for the work and how to approach and work on the scene according to Demidov’s principles.

63 HOURS TRAINING
This Course will be led by Andrei Biziorek, the UK’s only certified Teacher of the Demidov Acting School.
TUITION
Total: £1900
A £500 deposit is required within two weeks of acceptance onto the course. Once the deposit has been received, if required, a payment plan can be arranged for the remainder of the balance. Full payment must be completed before the start of the course.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Full attendance is mandatory for all scheduled sessions. This Immersion is designed as a continuous, ensemble-based training experience, where each participant’s presence directly affects the development, progress, and cohesion of the group. Absences are permitted only for illness (reasonable evidence may be requested); or extraordinary circumstances beyond the participant’s control (e.g. bereavement, medical emergency, or force majeure events).
