Scene work INTENSIVE
Scene Work Intensive
A concentrated three-day exploration of Demidov’s approach to working with character and material given by an author. Through sustained work on a scene, actors further develop the technique of “inexact” or “creative repetition,” discovering how character and relationships deepen and mature, and how circumstances continually reveal themselves through the organic approach.
During this Intensive, we take further steps towards mastering the art of creative transformation (embodiment), approaching character through scenes from contemporary realist plays, chosen by you and agreed between you, your scene partner, and the facilitator.
Working with a prepared and fully assigned scene, actors explore character, circumstances and the emerging life of the scene through repeated and sustained work with a partner. We will also work with sophisticated techniques such as Character Accumulation and Facilitation – unique to the Demidov School – exploring how we uncover the character’s past and prepare ourselves for work on a role.
