This is a sustained, small-cohort space for actors who have already engaged significantly with the work and are seeking a period of deepening rather than introduction. The cohort runs for three months, meeting once weekly for three hours online. It is capped at six actors to ensure continuity, precision, and meaningful individual attention. This is not curriculum-based progression. It is a structured but responsive period of practice focused on the deepening of each individual actor’s creative process in the Demidov work.

The course will comprise FOUR STRANDS:

Foundations & Etude Practice – 2 weeks

Scales & Auxiliary Exercises - ongoing

Monologue Investigation – four weeks

Scene & Character Work – six weeks

BETWEEN SESSION PRACTICE

Participants are expected to maintain consistent scales work and to continue scene, material or character exploration and facilitation between sessions. The aim is to cultivate independent practice, not reliance on the weekly meeting alone.

INTENTION

The work over the three months moves toward:

  • Deepening of individual practice of the Demidov Technique

  • Greater autonomy of independent creative practice

  • Increased singularity and calm

  • More subtle intuitive listening and responsiveness

  • The ability to work with the technique independently in relation to text and the facilitation of character

This is a mature working space for actors capable of self-directed inquiry and sustained commitment in addition to guided class work. The course is designed to allow for and respond to each individual actor’s needs in addition to creating a sense of ensemble.
